A workshop for anyone interested in using the Tegrity course capture system will be held Monday, June 2, from 9-11AM in 232 Gordon Palmer. Tegrity is a web-based tool that automatically records classroom lecture audio and synchronizes it with any visuals displayed through a classroom projector. Students can then view recordings using a link in the eLearning course management system.

Tegrity was used to record 1,168 lectures in 84 course sections in the Spring 2008 semester. The recordings were viewed 44,957 times by 10,777 users for a total of more than 15,000 hours.

From the Faculty Resource Center:

During the 2008 Interim term, the eLearning system will be undergoing application enhancements. This will cause some downtime and limit the availability of eLearning during the interim term; more information will be shared when available. We are currently scheduling the implementation of the eLearning enhancements. Please contact Rachel Shuttlesworth in the Faculty Resource Center at rshuttle@frc.ua.edu if you plan to use eLearning during the interim term. If you know which eLearning tools you may be using, please include that information in your message.
