Plenty of departments and offices across this campus — and at campuses worldwide — have active social media presences, but if you ask the people charged with maintaining them how they feel about institutional social media, you’ll hear some common questions: Is it worth the effort? How do we get people to respond to our posts? How do we keep this up long-term? Who ought to be in charge of it? And what should we do with it, anyway?
We in eTech maintain some of the College’s social media accounts, and we’ve asked ourselves these questions many times. As part of our ongoing effort to answer them, we’ve written the A&S Social Media Guidelines, in both long-form and quick-tips versions. Enjoy! And tell us what you think A&S social media should be; email Lisa Yessick with any comments or questions.
