What precautions should I take when traveling with technology?

It is always good to keep close track of your mobile technology while traveling. Items are sometimes left behind on airplanes or snatched when one’s attention is elsewhere. Individuals who are traveling should be particularly careful when connecting to public wireless, since these systems can make one vulnerable to hackers. UA faculty and staff can protect themselves by connecting to the UA VPN whenever using a public wireless connection. Individuals who are visiting universities that are part of the Eduroam consortium can log in to these networks using their myBama logins and passwords.
