All A&S-issued computers (Dell and Apple) are set up and supported through OIT. When you receive your new computer from OIT, you may notice that there are two login options – one for you and the other for OIT Admin.
When faculty or staff have problems with their computers, it sometimes takes time for OIT to troubleshoot the computer to figure out what is wrong. The admin login is so OIT can access the operating system and basic programs without you having to give them your password.
The admin login does not give OIT access to files stored on your desktop, your shortcuts or shared drives through this login. It only lets OIT see your operating system and the programs installed on your machine so they can better provide you service when needed.
